The Karaköy Baths are a historic Ottoman hammam in Yunusemre District of Manisa Province in western Anatolia, in a city of exceptional historical significance as the training ground for Ottoman crown princes and a major centre of Aegean regional commerce. Manisa's role as a şehzade şehri (city of princes) meant it attracted consistent architectural patronage from both the imperial family and their entourages, and the district's hammams served communities that enjoyed a higher standard of civic infrastructure than comparable provincial towns.
