The Tabae Roman Baths are ancient bathing remains associated with the city of Tabae, a Carian and later Roman city in Kale District, Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey, an area rich in calcareous spring deposits. Tabae was a prosperous Hellenistic and Roman city in the upper Calbis River valley, and its bath complex used the calcium-rich waters of the region that are closely related to the famous travertine formations of Pamukkale to the north. The calcareous mineral content of these waters gave them practical bathing qualities that made the Tabae baths a valued facility throughout antiquity.
