Kawauchi Onsen

Kawauchi Onsen is a hot spring in what was formerly Kawauchi Village, Onsen District, now part of Toon City, Ehime Prefecture on Shikoku Island, whose bicarbonate and naturally carbonated mineral waters have served this mountain community in the Shikoku Mountains since ancient times, traditionally valued locally for their gentle feel on the skin and their long-standing wellness reputation. Toon City, formed by the merger of several former towns and villages including Kawauchi, lies in the mountains east of Matsuyama, the capital of Ehime Prefecture, and its hot spring heritage complements the famous Dogo Onsen of Matsuyama as part of the rich thermal landscape of the Ehime mountain interior.
