Koma Tshachu

Koma Tshachu is a bicarbonate hot spring located in Bhutan's Gasa district, deep within the high-altitude wilderness that forms part of the Jigme Dorji National Park buffer zone. The spring is traditionally used by yak herders and highland communities of the Layap and Lunap peoples, who incorporate thermal bathing into their seasonal migrations across Bhutan's northern Himalayan valleys. Koma Tshachu's remote setting, accessible only on foot through multi-day treks, ensures that it remains an essentially wild thermal site where the therapeutic and spiritual dimensions of bathing are inseparable from the mountain landscape.
