Riemvasmaak Hot Springs is a remarkable thermal site deep in the Augrabies region of South Africa's Northern Cape, where bicarbonate-rich water bubbles from the arid Namaqualand landscape at temperatures around 70°C and is channelled into natural rock pools. The site forms part of the Riemvasmaak Community Conservancy, land returned to its original community after apartheid, and retains a wonderfully raw and undeveloped character. The extreme desert scenery, starlit skies, and remoteness make this one of South Africa's most atmospheric hot springs experiences.
