Baden, also called Baden bei Wien, is a town in Lower Austria, 25 km south of Vienna, on the spa line. As one of Europe's important spa towns, the town has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 2021. It is the seat of the Baden district administration. The town is particularly known for its rich heritage, its Biedermeier architecture, its artistic culture as well as its wine culture. The town is also known as the imperial town or spa town. The official name is Baden; often, including by the town itself, the name Baden bei Wien is also used. The municipality's official colours have been red and white since 15 October 1968. The town has 25,931 inhabitants.
