Thermes de Saillon

Thermes de Saillon is a thermal spa in the municipality of Saillon in the lower Valais canton, set in a medieval fortified village on a vineyard hillside above the Rhone valley, where bicarbonate-rich spring waters are used in a wellness complex at the foot of a remarkably preserved 13th-century fortified perimeter with round towers and a romanesque church. Saillon is home to the Cep de l'An Mil — officially certified by the Guinness World Records as the oldest known living grapevine in the world, a plant dating from approximately 1,000 years ago that still produces a small harvest each autumn sold by auction for Medecins Sans Frontieres. Bathing in the Saillon thermal waters beneath the medieval towers, with the world's oldest vineyard overhead and the Pennine Alps rising to 4,000 metres behind the Rhone valley, creates a uniquely layered Valaisan experience combining millennium-old viticulture, medieval fortification heritage, and bicarbonate spring wellness in one of the most scenic thermal landscapes in Switzerland.
