Bains de Lavey

The Bains de Lavey, while technically located in the Swiss canton of Vaud on the right bank of the Rhône, represent the natural continuation of Franco-Alpine thermal culture for visitors from the French side of the border and from the Valais wine country. The spring source, which has been harnessed since the 18th century, produces naturally warm water at 65°C emerging from deep granite fissures — the hottest natural thermal water in Switzerland — before being cooled for bathing in the indoor and outdoor pools of the beautifully positioned riverside spa complex. The setting on the Rhône between the Chablais Alps and the Valais vineyards, with views of the glaciated peaks of the Grand Combin massif, is one of the most scenically dramatic of any thermal facility in the Alps. The proximity of the Lavey-Morcles natural reserve and the Saint-Maurice abbatiale adds further interest.
