Thermalquelle Lavey-les-Bains

Thermalquelle Lavey-les-Bains, in the Rhône valley of Vaud canton near the Chablais Alps, emerges from the deepest active fissure thermal spring in Switzerland — water rising from approximately 2,000 metres depth at 68°C, making it the hottest natural thermal spring in the country and one of the most powerful in the entire Alpine arc. The calcium-rich waters, cooled to comfortable bathing temperatures, have been enjoyed for relaxation and well-being since the establishment of organised bathing here in the 18th century, valued for their exceptional mineral richness and their origin in the metamorphic basement of the Aiguilles Rouges massif. The Rhône valley setting of Lavey-les-Bains, flanked by the Dents du Midi to the south and the Diablerets massif above Aigle to the north, places this exceptional natural thermal spring in one of Switzerland's grandest Alpine river corridors.
