Jhinu Hot Springs — also known as Jhinu Danda — is a celebrated geothermal spring on the Annapurna Circuit trekking route in Nepal, located at the confluence of the Modi Khola and another stream near the village of Jhinu, where naturally warm sulphurous mineral water pools in sheltered rock basins on the riverbank at an elevation of around 1,780 metres. The hot springs have become one of the most eagerly anticipated stops on the famous Annapurna Circuit, offering tired trekkers the extraordinary relief of soaking their blistered feet and aching muscles in naturally heated mineral water after days of demanding high-altitude hiking. The combination of therapeutic spring water and spectacular Himalayan scenery makes Jhinu one of Nepal's most beloved natural hot spring experiences.
Insider tip — Jhinu Hot Springs on the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal is one of the most celebrated trail-side thermal stops in the Himalaya, where steaming sulfurous pools sit above the Modi Khola river gorge. Trekkers descend a steep trail from Chhomrong to soak their aching legs after days on the high mountain passes. The natural pools are managed by the local community and a small fee supports maintenance. The combination of hot mineral water, rushing river sounds, and rhododendron forest makes this a highlight of the entire circuit.
