Termales Agua Hirviendo (Coconuco)

Termales Agua Hirviendo (Boiling Water Springs) at Coconuco, Cauca Department, is one of Colombia's most extraordinary natural geothermal sites, where sulfurous springs emerge at near-boiling temperatures from the volcanic geology of the Central Andes, fed by the same magmatic systems that produced the Puracé and other active volcanoes of Colombia's volcanic arc. The site is located within the traditional territory of the Kokonuco indigenous people, whose ancestral relationship with these volcanic waters imbues the thermal experience with deep cultural significance.
