Konstantinovy Lázně

Konstantinovy Lázně in the Tachov district of Plzeň region is a small and pleasantly traditional Bohemian spa village whose bicarbonate mineral springs, discovered in the 15th century, have been developed since the 18th century into a modest but charming thermal resort. The naturally carbonated bicarbonate springs, taken principally as drinking cures in the long Bohemian thermal tradition, are enjoyed in the traditional Czech lázně manner — spa guests take the waters in a colonnaded pump room and follow walking routes through the landscaped park. The village sits at around 520 metres in the wooded hills of the Bohemian Forest borderlands, close to the German border, and the Czech-German landscape of mixed deciduous forest and historic fortified towns provides a beautiful regional context. Konstantinovy Lázně preserves a small-scale spa atmosphere that the larger Bohemian Triangle spas have inevitably lost.
