Siwa Oasis Hot Spring 'Eye of the Sun' — Ain Shams in Arabic — is one of Egypt's most ancient and mystically charged thermal sources, rising from beneath the Libyan Desert sand sea to form a warm turquoise pool in the oasis where Alexander the Great made his legendary pilgrimage to consult the Oracle of Amun in 331 BC.
