Balneario de Retortillo Salamanca

Balneario de Retortillo Salamanca is located in the village of Retortillo in the Campo Charro sub-region of Salamanca Province, Castile and León, in the deeply rural landscape of the heartland of Spanish bullfighting cattle ranching, where fighting bulls roam the vast dehesa pastures of holm oak woodland that have been farmed since Roman times. The sulphurous thermal waters of Retortillo rise from the granite sub-stratum of the ancient Salamancan highlands, carrying characteristic hydrogen sulphide that has been valued for centuries within a long thermal tradition in one of Castile's quieter and less-visited spa destinations.
