Balneario de Corconte

Balneario de Corconte is a thermal spa establishment in the Valle de Valdebezana in the province of Burgos, Castilla y León, Spain, located in the comarca of Las Merindades in the mountainous northern section of Old Castile where the mineral springs have historically been valued within a long thermal tradition in a landscape of deep limestone gorges, dense beech forests, and the headwaters of the Ebro River that rises nearby at Fontibre. The spa's position in the Cantabrian Mountains, at the watershed between the Atlantic-draining northern rivers and the Mediterranean-draining Ebro system, gives it an atmospheric character of high-mountain isolation unusual in the Castilian spa landscape, with the mists and green of the northern mountains contrasting with the arid meseta to the south.
