Cervera del Río Alhama

Cervera del Río Alhama is a small spa village in the Ebro valley borderland of La Rioja, Spain, near the Aragonese and Navarrese frontiers, where sulphurous thermal springs have been channelled into a traditional balneario serving the agricultural communities of this quiet river valley since at least the 19th century. The spa's sulphurous water is steeped in the classical Spanish hydrotherapy tradition and has long drawn bathers seeking the restorative experience of a rural mineral spring soak. The surrounding La Rioja landscape — vineyards, wheat fields, and the dramatic limestone cliffs of the Sierra de Yerga — and the town's medieval bridge and church architecture provide a characteristically authentic Riojan context.
