Balneario de Alicún de las Torres is a prehistoric and Roman thermal site near Guadix in the province of Granada, Andalusia, where bicarbonate-calcic hot springs emerge among the spectacular badlands erosion landscape of Las Hoces del Guadiana Menor — an area rich in cave dwellings and Paleolithic cave paintings. The thermal waters, at around 36°C, flow from underground limestone formations in one of southern Spain's most geologically dramatic settings, and have been continuously used since pre-Roman times across three millennia. The spa's outdoor thermal pools set among the eroded canyon landscape, combined with the UNESCO-worthy prehistoric rock art of the surrounding Sierra, make this one of Andalusia's most extraordinary thermal destinations.
