The second thermal site of Gréoux-les-Bains, complementing the main establishment, draws on additional sulphurous spring sources captured at depths of up to 1,200 metres in the Cretaceous limestone and evaporite formations beneath the Haute-Provence plateau. These secondary springs, which emerge with slightly different mineral compositions from the primary Gréoux springs, broaden the wellness offering of this major Provençal thermal resort and allow the spa complex to offer graduated sulphurous baths across a wider range of concentrations, in keeping with its long thermal tradition. The setting in the upper Verdon valley, with the lavender plateau of Valensole just below and the dramatic gorges of the Verdon canyon upstream, remains one of the most beautiful thermal landscapes in France. The additional spring capacity allows Gréoux to welcome its substantial visitor population — over 20,000 annually — without compromising the experience.

Insider tip — The Verdon Gorges (1 hr from Gréoux): one of the wonders of France. Manosque's Provençal market (Wednesday) is a must.
