Insider tip — Arizona Hot Spring, also called Ringbolt Hot Springs, is a hidden geothermal site accessible only by a canyon hike or boat along the Colorado River below Hoover Dam, where hot water seeps through travertine slots into a series of natural stone soaking pools. The remote location filters out casual visitors, and the reward is a series of intimate pools with warm mineral water framed by towering red canyon walls and the sound of the Colorado below. Water temperatures in the upper slots reach 42°C and cool progressively toward the river. The hike requires scrambling through a narrow canyon slot and a short rope descent, so proper footwear and dry bags for valuables are essential.
