Ringbolt Hot Spring

Ringbolt Hot Spring is a naturally occurring geothermal source set along the shoreline of Lake Mohave in southern Nevada, within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area — one of the American Southwest's defining desert water landscapes. The spring emerges at a pleasant 38 °C with a comfortably neutral pH of 7.3, producing clean, uncoloured water that pools naturally against the rocky lake margin. The name is believed to reference the historic iron ringbolts once used to guide boats through the narrow canyon sections of the Colorado River, adding a faint layer of frontier history to the site. Reaching the spring typically requires a short paddle or hike through the desert, making the arrival feel earned. The combination of warm, clear mineral water, desert stillness, and the vast blue expanse of the reservoir creates an experience of understated natural luxury unique to this corner of Nevada.
