Termal'nyye Istochniki — Russian for 'Thermal Springs' — is a geothermally heated mineral spring complex in Georgia, its name straightforwardly describing the defining characteristic of these naturally warm mineral water outlets in the geothermally active landscape of the South Caucasus. Insider tip — These thermal springs — 'Termal'nyye istochniki' — lie in the high Caucasus near the Georgian Military Highway east of Kazbegi, where volcanic and tectonic forces heat groundwater beneath the Greater Caucasus ridge. The coordinates place the source at roughly 2000 m elevation, surrounded by alpine meadows and the snow-capped peaks visible from the famous Gergeti Trinity Church.
