Thermal Riviera Crikvenica

Thermal Riviera Crikvenica is a thalassotherapy and wellness complex on the Kvarner Riviera coast of northern Croatia, where the iodine- and chloride-rich waters of the inner Kvarner Gulf are used in marine therapy programs in one of the most sheltered and climatically favoured stretches of the Adriatic. The Gulf of Kvarner, enclosed by the limestone Velebit massif to the east — the longest and highest coastal mountain range in the Mediterranean at 145 kilometres in length — benefits from a protected microclimate that gives Crikvenica some of the warmest winter temperatures on the northern Adriatic and an annual sunshine total exceeding 2,600 hours. The thalasso tradition of Crikvenica dates to the Austro-Hungarian period, when the Vienna medical establishment recommended the clear, mineral-rich Kvarner seawater for respiratory and lymphatic conditions, establishing a therapeutic reputation that continues today in modern iodine marine therapy programs.
