Lipičke Toplice in Lipik, Požega-Slavonia County, is one of Croatia's oldest and most medically prestigious thermal spa destinations, whose fluoride and bicarbonate-rich mineral springs have been used for therapeutic bathing since Roman times and developed into a major rehabilitation centre for neurological and musculoskeletal conditions since the nineteenth century. Lipik gained tragic international recognition during the 1991 Croatian War of Independence, when the spa town suffered severe damage, and its subsequent reconstruction became a symbol of Croatian resilience. The restored Lipik Spa continues to operate as a medical thermal centre, combining the spa's pre-war European architectural elegance with contemporary rehabilitation medicine and Croatian balneological tradition.
