Debar Banja

Debar Banja is a thermal spa in Debar Municipality, North Macedonia, in the Debar Lake region of western North Macedonia near the Albanian border, where naturally hot springs at temperatures up to 70°C emerge from the geological formations of the Debar basin — among the hottest and most mineralogically distinctive thermal waters in the Western Balkans. The oligomineral waters here have been developed into one of North Macedonia's most important spa facilities, offering therapeutic bathing for musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and dermatological conditions in a culturally diverse community where Albanian, Macedonian, and Roma populations share the Debar valley landscape. Debar Banja's combination of genuinely high-temperature natural springs, dramatic lake and mountain scenery at the edge of the Mavrovo National Park, and its position in one of the Balkans' most ethnically diverse border regions makes it a fascinating and medically credible thermal destination in the Western Balkans.
