Emti Hot Springs

Emti Hot Springs is a natural chloride-rich thermal spring in the Arkhangai Region of central Mongolia, emerging in the rolling steppe and forested highland landscape of the Khangai Mountains at an altitude where summers are briefly warm and winters brutally cold, making the warm spring waters particularly valued by nomadic herding communities during the short summer migration season. The springs are part of the extensive geothermal network of the Khangai volcanic highland, where numerous hot spring sites are distributed across the river valleys between the mountain massif and the Mongolian steppe, each historically known to local Mongolian herders as seasonal bathing and gathering points. The experience of bathing in the Emti springs within a landscape of nomadic yurt camps, vast horse herds, and the immense sky of the Mongolian interior is one of the most authentic and atmospherically powerful thermal encounters available in Central Asia.
