Bhurung Tatopani is a village development committee in Myagdi District in the Dhaulagiri Zone of western-central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 843 people living in 182 individual households. Singa Tatopani Kunda in Myagdi district is traditionally renowned. There is a local belief that taking a regular bath in a pool of hot water of 50 degrees Celsius for a week is associated with well-being, within a long tradition of natural hot spring bathing. The water in the pool smells like birch bark.

Insider tip — Tatopani — literally 'hot water' in Nepali — sits in the Kali Gandaki gorge, one of the world's deepest river valleys, on the classic Annapurna Circuit trekking route. After days of mountain walking, trekkers soak in these riverside sulfurous pools with the snow-capped Dhaulagiri massif towering overhead. The springs emerge beside the roaring Kali Gandaki River at around 1,190 meters elevation. Arrive in the late afternoon when the gorge walls glow gold and the evening crowd of trekkers makes for a convivial atmosphere.
