At 950 metres above sea level, on the banks of the Myagdi Khola River, the twin villages of Singa and Tatopani are home to one of western Nepal's most visited hot springs. Reached via roughly 9 km of gravel road from Beni Bazar, the district headquarters of Myagdi, the site now draws more than 20,000 visitors a year from across the country and abroad.

The naturally warm, lightly sulphurous water feeds separate pools for men and women. Since 2024, the site's management committee has held an evening Aarti ceremony by the water every Monday, adding a ritual, community dimension to a visit at this relaxing spot tucked into the valley.

Insider tip — Singa Tatopani is located in the Myagdi district on the route toward Dhaulagiri base camp, one of Nepal's most challenging and least-visited trekking destinations. The sulfurous spring pool is carved into river boulders below dense mixed-oak forest, with Dhaulagiri's ice faces visible on clear mornings upstream. The trail here passes through Magar and Thakali villages where traditional slate-roofed homes line the path. A soak at Singa before the final push to higher camps is a time-honored ritual among local porters.
