Termálfürdő Tiszaújváros

Termálfürdő Tiszaújváros is the thermal bathing facility of Tiszaújváros, a planned industrial city in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County in northeastern Hungary, founded as Leninváros in 1951 as part of the Hungarian People's Republic's Stalinist industrialization program centered on the Tisza River chemical complex and petrochemical industry, where the deep drilling for energy resources also revealed the geothermal thermal aquifer resources of the Pannonian Basin that supplied the thermal baths serving the city's industrial workforce. Tiszaújváros, renamed after the fall of communism, retains its distinctive socialist urban planning heritage alongside the thermal spa facilities that served the workers of the petrochemical plants — a combination of heavy industry, planned urbanism, and thermal wellness culture characteristic of the socialist city-building tradition across Central and Eastern Europe that used thermal baths as key amenities for worker populations. The thermal pool draws on the geothermal artesian water resources of the Tisza plain to provide mineral spring bathing for the city's communities in the tradition of Hungarian thermal welfare provision.
