Aguas Termales Coporaque

Aguas Termales Coporaque is a natural thermal spring in the Coporaque district of the Caylloma province in Arequipa Region, Peru, situated in the high-altitude landscape adjacent to the famous Colca Canyon — one of the world's deepest canyons at over 3,200 meters from rim to river — where the Colca River has carved through the western Andean Cordillera in a landscape of terraced pre-Inca agriculture, Andean condors soaring on thermal updrafts, and the volcanic peaks of Ampato, Sabancaya, and Hualca Hualca. The thermal springs of Coporaque and the surrounding Colca Valley are associated with the geothermal activity of the Ampato volcanic complex and the deep fault systems of the western Andean flank, and they have served the Collagua indigenous communities of the canyon since pre-Columbian times. The springs offer therapeutic warm mineral bathing in one of the Andes' most spectacular and culturally rich landscapes, where the thermal waters emerge within walking distance of the reed-built churches and pre-Inca terraces of the Colca Valley.
