Opened in 1888 in a Colorado mountain valley, Glenwood Hot Springs Pool grew into the largest mineral hot springs pool in the world. Its water comes from the Yampah spring — named 'Big Medicine' by the Ute tribes who bathed there long before settlers arrived — emerging at around 122°F before being cooled for the main pool, which stretches 405 feet.

Insider tip — Glenwood's massive outdoor pool is open year-round, and winter is when it truly shines — steam rises around you while snow blankets the canyon walls. Use the large main pool for laps and the smaller, warmer basin to unwind. It's right off I-70, making it an effortless Rocky Mountain road trip stop.
