Valley View Hot Springs near Villa Grove in Colorado's San Luis Valley is a clothing-optional hot spring complex at 8,700 feet elevation on the eastern escarpment of the San Luis Valley, operated as a nature reserve by the Orient Land Trust, where chloride-rich thermal pools are integrated into native grassland and pinyon-juniper woodland managed for wildlife and conservation values alongside human therapeutic use. The springs overlook the vast San Luis Valley — a high-altitude closed basin at 7,500 feet once filled by Lake Alamosa — with the Sangre de Cristo Mountains rising dramatically to 14,000-foot peaks directly to the east. The stars above Valley View, in one of Colorado's darkest light-pollution zones, and the wildlife of the adjacent nature reserve (elk, mountain lions, golden eagles) create a hot spring experience of extraordinary natural integrity rarely found in commercial facilities.
