The Alhan Baths are a historic Ottoman hammam in Yenipazar District of Aydın Province in western Turkey, in the agricultural Maeander valley hinterland of the Aegean region. Yenipazar is a small district in the interior of Aydın Province, away from the Aegean coast and the major ancient sites that attract most visitors to the region, and its hammam served the agricultural community of a provincial Anatolian market town with the essential weekly bathing ritual that was the cornerstone of Ottoman communal life. The baths reflect the dispersal of Ottoman hammam culture throughout even modest interior settlements of the western Anatolian agricultural hinterland, far from the grand baths of coastal İzmir and the archaeological sites of the Maeander valley.
