The Gümüşköy Roman Baths are located in Sultanhisar, Aydın Province, Turkey, near the ancient site of Nysa. The thermal water reaches around 40°C. The bathhouse offers a steam room, marble slab, kessa scrub, beldi soap and massage.
Insider tip — Gümüşköy in the Aydın province lies in the geothermally intense Büyük Menderes (Maeander) valley, near the Kızıldere geothermal power plant — one of Turkey's first and largest geothermal energy facilities. The Roman Baths at Gümüşköy drew on the same volcanic geology that today generates clean electricity, in a valley where ancient thermae and modern geothermal power both harness the heat rising from beneath the fertile Aegean hinterland near the ancient city of Nysa.
