The Albtherme is a thermal complex in Waldbronn, built in 1976 according to the plans of the architects Wedler, Greinert & Bender. The Albtherme is supplied by the municipal spring located in the nearby thermal park. Recognized by the state as a thermal spring, the municipality of Waldbronn has been authorized since May 1993 to bear the designation "locality with a thermal establishment fed by springs."
Insider tip — Waldbronn in the northern Black Forest foothills near Karlsruhe is a small spa town whose Albtherme draws on the mineral springs of the Alb river valley at the forest's edge. The facility brings Black Forest bathing culture to the Karlsruhe metropolitan area — Germany's nuclear research and technology capital, home to the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, where a spa tradition centuries older than the research complex provides a restorative counterpoint to the demands of cutting-edge science.
