Located on the shores of Lake Kivu in Goma, North Kivu, DR Congo, the Kivu Lake Warm Springs offer a unique thermal experience. The springs are fed by bicarbonatée water, rich in minerals, and are situated near the slopes of Nyiragongo volcano, one of Africa's most active volcanoes.
Insider tip — Warm springs seep along the shores of Lake Kivu on the Albertine Rift, one of the most tectonically active zones in Africa, where the East African Rift is slowly splitting the continent. The water temperature is gentle at around 35°C, blending with the cool lake water along volcanic rock shores. The panorama of the lake — shared between DR Congo and Rwanda — and the distant Virunga volcanoes provides a compelling backdrop.
