Relaxing — deep, immediate muscle release.
Rich in active gases or metals — a strong mineral character.
Soft water — natural, classic buoyancy.
Chilime Hot Spring lies in Rasuwa District at the bottom of the Chilime valley, a steep gorge carved by a tributary of the Trishuli River in the Langtang region of northern Nepal. The location places it at the junction of trekking routes leading toward Langtang National Park and the Tibetan border, and the spring has long served as a welcome rest stop for porters, locals, and trekkers descending from the high-altitude trails above. The Rasuwa valley setting combines dense subtropical forest lower down with the increasingly bare, windswept terrain of the Himalayan front range higher up.
The spring emerges at 42 °C — genuinely hot, producing immediate warming upon entry — and carries a sulfurous character with a pH of 6.5. The sulfur mineral content gives the water a distinctive scent, elemental and earthy, and the temperature means the body warms quickly. For trekkers arriving after days on high-altitude trails, the outdoor pools at Chilime offer a deeply restorative contrast — the warmth of the mineral water against the cool, damp air of the river gorge creating an experience inseparable from the dramatic Himalayan landscape that surrounds it.
