Timure Hot Spring

Timure Hot Spring is a natural thermal spring near Timure village in the remote Rasuwa District of Bagmati Province, Nepal, close to the Rasuwagadhi border crossing with Tibet, where chloride-rich geothermal waters emerge in a high-altitude landscape of deep river gorges and pine forests at the edge of the Himalayan rain shadow transition zone between subtropical Nepal and the Tibetan plateau. The springs are frequented by trekkers on the Langtang-Gosaikunda and Tibet border trekking routes and by the local Tamang community, whose Buddhist heritage — expressed in ancient monasteries, mani walls, and gompa (temple) architecture — deeply characterises this border valley culture. Timure's position at Nepal's most recently opened Tibet border crossing, combined with its natural hot spring resource and the dramatic Himalayan landscape of the upper Bhote Koshi gorge, makes it a uniquely positioned thermal destination at the cultural and geographical frontier of Nepal and Tibet.
